Well it's been a while! The Prancing Moose needed some tlc...

    1. New front brake discs & pads. Found my front-left disc was missing the little screw that holds the disc in.... Oops. Four new little screws all round. Definitely answers what the sound coming from over that side of the car was.
    2. Two of three tubes from the IPD HD TCV installed. Now I've found where the lower one plugs into by getting under the car & that will be going on next weekend.
    3. Degreased around the power steering reservoir & down that side of the engine. My engine doesn't use oil & the power steering is always full yet there's always little leaks & sticky power steering fluid on that side of the engine bay - it's like owning an Alfa sometimes!
    4. Checked for negative pressure at the oil filler cap - yes (doing the PCV looks daunting).
    5. Washed the car.

    Still pondering:

    1. Replacing the power steering reservoir
    2. Replacing the coolant expansion tank - sometimes it just empties but I never find a puddle.....
    3. Ordering the subframe bushes & the inserts IPD have.
    4. Planning to clean the MAF & ETM
    5. Ting to diagnose why the fuel consumption went from 9.1L/100k to 11.9L/100k (25-26mpg to 19-20mpg) a while back. I have new coils, new air filter, new spark plugs, same tires. Killing me

Had the front lower control arm bushings replaced today. Yesterday evening I replaced the center console, the original one was scratched up and the latch on the lid was broken.

Picked up my '03 xc70 a few days ago. I was pretty busy with it this week. I converted all the interior lights into LED lights, installed HID head lights and fog lights, Seafoam'ed the engine, changed the plugs, oil and filter, installed a HD TCV, swapped out all of the vacuum lines, installed a boost gauge, and i did a tranny drain and fill, drove about 100 miles, and did another drain and fill....LoL. fun stuff!!!

Installed anti-ping axle bolts in the front axles. This completely stopped the click-clack sound from P to R, or to D. Very happy that the axles weren't worn!

Ok I give. I've never hear of "anti-ping axle bolts". How do the work?

    XC90 axle bolts
Usually used on Rs which have notoriously noisy axles, this does work (personal experience)
You need to be careful though, it's been found out over the past few years that they can trap moisture and eventually rust inside.
Volvo dealers will not do this anymore and have gone back to the Locktite fix

Yes, yes they have. It uhmm..."works." I think mine need to be redone. They were done last September but there's muffled clacking noises coming from them.

Speaking of, I put gas in it! but my issues are piling on. It now definitely needs an alignment, the paste needs to be redone in my half shafts, and...that's actually it. Surprisingly.

Put the black 17" pegs on and stored the silver 18" pegs for now, I am not sure which way I like it best. Did that sound right?
