You NEVER "hit it with a toothbrush"
You put the cleaner ON A RAG then CAREFULLY wipe
NEVER spray inside one of these and do not use anything abrasive

Had to use some torx bits and a screwdriver to get my car started in the supermarket parking lot at 1:00 in the morning... Damn shift ignition cylinder.

A police officer drove through the parking lot twice while I was there with a head lamp on my head and tools in my hand but he didn't bother to ask me WTF I was doing. I'm sure it looked like I was trying to hot wire my car. I guess he figured if I was car thief it wouldn't have been taking me so long...

Pain, oh the pain. 2001 xc70 with 162,000km, in to dealer to have cam belt changed, pcv replaced, couple of turbo hoses replaced (with silicone) and when it is all done, what do the say? Oh by the way you need to replace the exhaust cam as it is throwing out the timing!!! $800 for just that dam sprocket that's NZ$ btw, so about $560 US. I have now done, or had done:
    ETM (Xmodex)
    MAF
    TCV
    TPS
    Coils (IPD)
    All hoses to IPS Silicone
    Cam, water pump etc.

It better run properly when I get it back or it and I am going to get it from the boss.

Well, last night on the way home I hit a big raccoon. The crazy thing was in front of the car before I even had a chance to brake. Hit him at about 45mph and put a good dent in the front skid plate right under the grill. Anyone know how much one of these will cost and a good source of supply other than a dealer?

    Thanks.

Took our '03 into the dealer last Thursday for routine maintenance and got my 10-year old original battery replaced! I didn't think there was anything wrong with it as i had no symptoms of a weak battery, but I told him it was the original battery and asked him to check it out since my daughter is driving it at college. the service guy was amazed that the battery had lasted that long. Up until my battery he said the longest life battery he had seen in a Volvo was nine years on an S60. 19 Feb 2003 is when we took delivery of the car.
    Cheers, Gary
