    Yup, my car. My precious

I'm fine, got out of it with a bump in my forehead and a sore neck. 6 hours in the hospital and i got to go home. I guess Volvo saved me life.

Sort of. Was driving down a narrow hill, was braking on the gears as i usually do. Was going a bit fast (slowly nearing ~55 in a 40 zone (km/h)), so i barely touched the brake - the car just shot out to the right (difference in traction i guess, the ABS / ESP had no time to correct. Talking 10-20 meters from when i hit the brake 'till impact) and wham, into a barrier.

Yup. The whole cabin is ~90% intact. It looks really bad on that picture, but really the only thing really damaged in the cabin is the passenger side front door. Other than that things has just broken loose, so i'll be pulling out everything that is intact and sell it / save it for my next XC. The Volutions was taken off for the winter, luckily

    Default Volvo's self sacrifice

Knowing all is well, I guess it's good to have a car that will sacrifice itself first to save you.
Hope your insurance check allows you to "buy up" and get a nicer XC!
