My '99 V70 XC AWD with the B5245T engine turbo needs to be replaced at 137K. It's the stock low pressure unit, a 13G model. I read somewhere that I could simply swap out this for either a 15G or 16T and should go with the 16T. Is this correct? Any problems to watch out for? Anything else to check or replace while I'm at it? THANKS!

Plain and simple, yes either 13G, 13T, 15G or 16T will work without issues.
Keep in mind that it's RARE to have a turbo fail. So before you buy anything keep in mind that it's not likely that your turbo needs to be replaced.
Also IF you do replace it then just swap over the center cartridge with cold side attached. This will make it go faster then having to take the exhaust housing out! It's just a v-band clamp.
