I'm taking a short 500 mile road trip this weekend we'll see how it holds up.
Pablo - My 03 with 338k miles on it had a similar shudder this past Spring. Bad on accel and smooth when lifted off the gas. But I had a local indy shop replace the drive axle for a total cost including labor of $326. Not an OEM axle for sure but completely solved the issue and car will get me to it's EOL at end of November. Was worth the cost.

Just hit 120,000 miles in my 2004 XC70. Just replaced the fuel pump and a couple years ago did all five coil packs? Still has the original 2004 battery which just tested good still! Pretty much trouble free and a great car! Hope to get at least 250,000 miles with out to much trouble. Wife wants to keep it forever! Looks new inside and out:

Mine hit 174k today. Not much compared to others on here, but still high enough to impress friends and family.

Other than timing belt service, a set of brakes and tires, shocks/springs/front wheel bearings at 120k, new inner and outer tie rods and ball joints at 136k, I really haven't had to do much at all.

I purchased it almost exactly 4 years ago with 91k, and have almost doubled that figure.

I was recently thinking of trading it in on a 4 door Wrangler, but the value is so low it's not worth it... I might as well keep driving it and putting money in the bank. They're coming out with a new Wrangler for '18 so there's no hurry, they have a 10 year model cycle.

What oil and interval are all you guys using? Considering switching from dealer blend to Mobil 1 in 99,000 mi 2006. Too late? Any downside?

    Not a problem.

Our xc70 killed by a Drunk Driver, had 127k on it when it gave its life last December.

    Mileage is irrelevant.

Depending on driving style and use pattern, mileage may be relevant.

I had Used Oil Analysis done on both cars. The T5 was seeing more highway miles. Mobil 1 0W40 was good for about 9,000 miles in the T5. Pennzoil Ultra Euro (a synthetic, long-drain, ACEA specification oil) was done at 7,500 miles in the XC.

If you use an oil designed for longer drain intervals, you clearly don't have to change it as often, but mileage IS relevant. And only a UOA can determine how long you can truly go. Oil isn't a simple subject. There's more to it than viscosity...

I talked a bit about that in this thread a few years ago:

Bought new in '05, original owner: My 2005 XC70 has 233,568 miles. Daily driver 60 miles round trip to work. Mainly highway miles. Looks like new also.
