Lightbulb Sirius packages--can we get any XM?

I'm getting the sat radio module installed next week. I've been looking at the packages available on the Sirius website. Anyone know if the module is MiRGE capable so you can get the Sirius XM All-in-One package? Is it A-La-Carte capable? If you got your wagon with it installed already, did you get some other literature besides the Volvo owners manual? The manual refers to Sirius 1 and Sirius 2, but I can't find anything that refers to that on the Sirius website. Any info would be appreciated!

Sirius 1 and Sirius 2 are like FM1 and FM2: just another set of memory setting for the wife.

The small pamphlet (more like an information card) I got with the car (Sirrius radio is std on the XC70 T6 in Canada) did not have much information other than the Sirrius customer service number and channel list. All this is availaible on the Sirrius website.

My parents have an 02 Chevy Silverado with XM built-in. After the merge I was able to call XM and add the "best of Siruis" package to the XM subscription for an exta $5/month or so. But if you've already got Siruis, you've already Howard 100, so you're already set

    Smile Getting "Sirius" tomorrow!

Thanks for the info! I am still deciding what package to sign up for when the module gets installed tomorrow. I don't know if I'll be offered the 6 months free service so I'm waiting until I pick it up to actually sign up. I suspect that I won't be offered anything free as the wagon only came with the prep package. BTW, they are charging me about $400 for the module, labor and software download. I called around but the independent shop cannot do the software download if I bought the module from either Dealerfit.com or MySwedishParts.com, which offered the module for substantially less than the dealer is charging me. And you know if I don't get the module from the dealer and it doesn't work right, they will just say it's my problem since I didn't get the module from them. I'll report back with the final price and how it goes in case anyone else is out there with the prep pkg wondering if they should get the module installed.

FWIW, I'm getting the Sat radio for a few reasons. One, I like it when I've had it in rental vehicles. Two, I have the single CD High Performance Stereo and I'm not into the iPod thing. On my previous '04 Volvo XC70, I had the 4-CD high end stereo and usually drove around with the same 4 CDs for months on end. And finally, when you drive out of Oklahoma City in almost any direction, there are some serious dead zones for radio stations.

I know this comes as a shocker, but I am not getting the three months free with the radio installation. I'm going with the "Everything Sirius" package after the hubby checked out the sports availability, etc. I'm actually doing the activation this afternoon. It was $410 for the module and install/software download.

    Hey OK,

Did your car come with the Sirius prep package? Mine did not and I cannot get the dealers to agree on whether it's possible to add integrate it into my car. One dealer tells me yes, one tells me no. Frustrating...

    Default Sirius

Don't know about later years but in the MY07, the radio will only accept the "standard" Sirius package. The different options and station choices aren't possible.

    Default don't think so....

My 08 came with the satellite prep package, which to the naked eye was the satellite antenna on the back and the ability of the radio to integrate the satellite module. The module goes in the back by the spare tire and is plug and play. It does need to get a computer download to make it work as the sirius mode did not show as an option until it was installed. The prep kit is listed as factory prep, so it may actually be that it can't be retro-fitted as it isn't available to purchase. You could probably get prep work done at an auto accessories shop locally and get them to install the Volvo unit and then go to the dealer for the computer update to make the unit work with the existing radio. I have the "high performance radio", not the dynaudio, btw.
I went with the "everything sirius" package, no XM stuff.
