    Default Painting the plastic body cladding?

    Has anyone here painted the body cladding, if so any pictures and how has it held up?

    I did my 01 XC many years ago. Done correctly it should last as long as the paint on the car.

    JRL, when you did that did you see any stone chips on the nose similar to if it was painted steel? I already have some small spots in the plastic from impacts and I would suspect that if painted these spots would have shown.

    Also, all the various bits came off the car to go into the booth, right?

    Does change the character of the car though, doesn't it?

    I had it for about 35K this way.
    If I recall, only one small chip!
    The large bumpers and the side cladding were left on the car, only a couple of small parts were removed.
    I also did the mirrors if you noticed

    If you want a paint job like that just buy an R and get the performance too.
