Thule bars from an 04 to an 08+

Just in case anyone was pondering a switch to the new XC70, I happily discovered that my Thule "feet" from my O4 work even better on the 08. They are marked with the old model 1054. I have been using Thule since 1999 and love their products. It's nice not to have to buy new "feet" for the rails.

wonder if the ones from my 2000 would fit.... do they have the big allen wrench that says volvo, and have square bars? i bet the feet are universal I know yakima's are now.

There's no allen wrench. Thule bars are indeed square. The feet are not universal. These just happen to fit the new 08 because of the shape of the rails. The top of the rail is peaked and the bottom is flat. Same as the 04. In fact, if you look on the Thule website, they actually say the "feet" model number 450 and 450R fit both the 04 and the 08. That inspired me to go see if my old model (1054) would fit.

I just put mine on today, found them layin around in the garage. They fit perfectly. Pretty happy about that- they are from a MY 2000

I think a cargo basket with some PIAA lights would be cool.... oh but the $$ is definetly not there. Oh well we all have our wishes.
