    Default Rear Wiper

I was changing the blade on my rear wiper on my 2001 XC and the tabs that hold the blade in broke off. It looks like they are molded as one piece with the arm. I haven't price an arm but does anyone know if they are expensive, or where I could get a good used one?

The same clip broke off of the rear wiper arm on our '01. Dealer replacement cost of an arm is usually in the range of $40-$50. More in this thread.

Erie Volvo gets the thumbs up from JRL as a reliable source for parts.

I broke mine trying to put in an aftermarket blade. The replacement arm was $56. I asked why it broke so easily and got a long lecture about using non-OEM parts (who buys windshield wipers at the dealer?). After I complained that there was no difference in the blades they measured the diameter of the rod that clips in and found it to be slightly larger. I asked them to replace the arm for free, suggesting their part was faulty or at best cheaply made. They wouldn't comp me at the local dealer, but they appealed to Volvo under warranty (this is not a warrantied part, nor is my vehicle under warranty). Volvo sent me a check for the full replacement cost a couple weeks later.

    Interesting thread! Here's my input:

I replaced the rear blade on my 04 without any difficulty. I used a pen to put pressure on the tabs while pushing on the blade until it popped off. The new blade popped on without any difficulty. Interestingly, the blade I took off appears to be the original blade. The reason I replaced it was because the rubber was ripped at both ends.

Regarding price, I bought the replacement blade at the dealership and it cost CAD12. I didn't think this was expensive as a mail irder part would have cost $9 plus shipping.
