Default What Australia is all about - more pics from Blue Mountains

    Hi all,

Two more pics of my XC70 taking on the Blue Mountains.

    Enjoy.

    Cheers,

    Default Too Easy?

Hi Patrick and thanks for the call today. Lets' get a group together & do an all Volvo Drive through the Blue Mountains again? BTW what's with the guide to get up this seemingly easy track?
    Cheers

There was a very deep trench right in the middle under the car. It would have been better had the photo been taken one car length later! You can see the loose rocks under the car where the main track surface has washed away.

We'll plan a Blue Mountains Drive for the Sydney Volvo owners. But it will be on easier tracks though!
    Cheers,

Hi PJ. I doubt my '82 245GL could keep up, but I'd love to join you guys when I get my XC90 (hopefully in the next month or two)

I doubt my bike could keep up with you guys either (off road)! I tend to stick to the back roads around the Blue Moutains (Bells Line of Road), Wisemans Ferry, up around Bathurst or up the Old Road

Wow, big jump from a 245 to an XC90.

Don't underestimate the mighty 245. I reckon a very well sorted 200 series Volvo won't be that far off the mark. An XC does the work in more comfort, but you'd be surprised how far I've taken my '78 245 and my '82 244! On the smooth stuff with the right tyres and good shocks they handle the corners brilliantly too.

When we do our drive, make sure to come along. It will be non-XC friendly.
    Cheers,
    Patrick
