We have had an 05 xc70 for the past 10 years and are looking at 2 2013 xc70s now. Are there any known issues or pointers you all can give me for this platform and year? I have been on the p2 forums...
Talked to IPD today and got basically the same thing. Looks like shocks and possibly springs. Thanks!
Has anyone here put a more HD shock/spring combo on their XC? we have a 2007 that is doubling as a work van and is in need of shocks. Is there a recommended package for this? Thanks in advance!
I got one from the stealership for less than $25 and it is 100% better than the one I got from IPD
The issue was the banjo bolt not having the correct washers on it.... Well that and the fact that I was trying to fit in WAY to much job in too little of time. Should be taken care of now. Thanks...
Did my best to tackle a PCV replacement today. Got everything back together mirroring what I took off and following posts here along with other resources. Everything seemed to come back together fine...

Now I am curious about how much the dealership would charge me to remove the alarm from the system. Seems a lot easier for sure!
jaip, what type of bulbs did you get to work with your fogs?
Is it still available?
Thank you for all the tips. Timing belt and water pump aren't due for another 30k miles and that's a lot more than I really want to jump into on this time so I'll wait for those but the thermostat is...
Any chance you still have the stock radio for sale?
So I am getting the PCV kit from IPD and was thinking about what else could be done for general maintenance since I will be under the hood for an extended amount of time. Hoses come to mind but I am...
Thanks for the tip. I've been putting off the VIDA purchase for a while but I know it's more than worth it. May have to go by the dealership before it gets here though. Starting to wonder if there...
Came home and inspected battery and cables. Battery is only a few months old and zero corrosion. Used my cheapo code reader and nothing there. Drove the car around town and could not recreate the...
Sorry. Thought it was in my signature. 2005 roughly 155k. Getting ready to look around now
This should help.

There are a few on here that do tow with their xc's but I always have worried about stressing out the transmission. If you search through the threads you can see some good posts on towing.
Just got a call from my wife that the xc lost power and gas/oil gages went to zero along with power steering going out while driving down the road. She coasted into a parking lot and turned the car...
Just had mine replaced. Ordered from Sweeden and had it in 3-4 days. Hth
Congrats. Hopefully I won't be too far behind you. If your heading to the beach anytime soon and want to bring it let me know ;)
I have grown up road tripping in volvos and specifically bought ours for the trip and safety aspect. Follow the above mentioned advice and you will be fine. I looked at Subaru's when shopping for my...
Awesome. I was thinking it couldn't be too big of a deal. Thanks! Hoping to go pick it up this weekend. I'm thinking it will hold a stroller and a few other items to free up space on trips.
Not sure about Tennessee but in North Carolina if you fail vehicle inspection three times and the car is over 10 years old you can get a waiver from the DMV. At the very least maybe that can help...
