Meant to say that if the part, in the pdf, about pulling up the edge of the door module etc. doesn't apply to your car then I'd guess you need a (probably very expensive) Volvo 'special tool'....

Don't know if this will help but you could give it a try. Be aware though that you may have to have a software update afterwards - although that might only be for the window operation and the switch...
