ffered here is my 2005 Volvo XC70 with 168xxx on the clock. This has been my personal car since 2013, I am the third owner. Clean Title. No accidents, all original glass, a small dent in the left...
I received the recall notice before Christmas and (supposedly) made an appointment for late January. I am going to call and verify part availability early next week.
Both I think.
You have to ask, what caused the head gasket to leak after the previous repair. Something was not right. I think the head should at least be checked by a shop for flatness, pretty easy to do. There...
I installed the Sachs strut assemblies from IPD, same parts as FCP. They seem to have all OE parts, the strut mounts are marked "VOLVO". Fit and function is perfect. But, the new springs seem...
O2 sensors if not outright defective, can become slow to respond as they age. If have found "lazy" downstream sensors on two cars. Replacement solved the problem, and the vehicle ran better!
How old is the battery? Perhaps have a load test done on it.
It sounds like you have an aftermarket remote starter setup? If so, I would disconnect that if possible, at least temporarily bypass it, and see if the problem changes.
I suggest you contact FCP Euro. They have been very helpful identifying the correct part for me.
Did you check the two small turbo coolant hoses? These are difficult to see. You may have to move the upper heat shield.
You cannot mix the G-05 and the green stuff you have now. I think I would stick with what you have, otherwise you will have to thoroughly flush the system first, before switching to G-05 or Volvo OEM...
Is the shift lever loose and flopping side-to-side? If so, there is a plastic cam that breaks, called a "rocker arm"....
+1 to this!
Bumper cover really is a 10 minute job! The only way, in my opinion, to do anything with the headlamps.
Belated Update:
I replaced both the upstream wideband A/F sensor, and the downstream in-cat O2 sensor with Bosch OE replacements. This seems to have cured the problem, resulting in both an...
Correct, you don't need to run the adaptation, but you should reset the fluid counter using VIDA.
Yes, it is a CTA brand tool.
When I did the cam seals, I used the tool sold by IPD. I think it is available cheaper elsewhere, but I needed to get the job done. Also, I used the technique, where a sheet metal or drywall screw is...
Replaced the upstream A/F sensor.
The idle RPM seems normal, and about 650. No codes now or ever...
Also, I have a Blue Driver OBD scanner, and when connected here, the data looks similar, but it indicated LTFT in the range of about...
I am experiencing reduced fuel mileage, but no other apparent symptoms or codes set. The car seems to run fine, as usual, but with noticeably increased fuel consumption by about 10-12 %. I don't...
Perhaps contact FCP euro, I have found them to be very helpful with part number research.
If you own this car, you will need a VIDA/DICE anyway, sooner or later. May as well just go that route, and have everything you need.
Reverend,
Did you have the Sachs QuickStruts? What failed?
I just installed the Sachs Quick Struts and other parts from IPD. Also replaced the usual suspects; control arms, ball joints, sway bar links.
The Quick Struts make it easy! This is not a difficult...
Does the sound change at all if the AC clutch is engaged? Could it be the AC clutch bearing?
