Just an update. The part number for the motor is 31462798, and it includes that gear, but will cost around $400.
As an alternative, I *think* I've found the gear on ebay, package of 2 for $20:...
Had difficulty finding anything on this, so thought I'd share...
This morning the sunroof wouldn't close completely, and was just slightly dipped at the back. Using the button/slider triggered a...
Thanks again @VA Volvo for all the pics. It helped me quite a bit. I can only add a couple of things:
The part number (at least in NA) for the part behind the passenger is 39852162 - there...
Hey, just had this break on me today on a 2012. Will give your instructions a try - big thanks for posting it!
Thanks for the replies.
I had considered a lubricant, but was concerned that it might remain on the tab, and ruin clothing as it was buckled.
In any event, I've never seen this before on any...
I've searched online, and in this forum, and while I get several matches around a seat belt that won't retract, I'm not finding anything about the actual latch that is difficult to open.
About 5...
Thank you - it's the T6.
My 2012 XC70 is approaching 150K miles.
In the service manual, they reference the auxiliary drive belt for "VIN codes 90, 94, 95".
I've checked several online explanations of Volvo VINs, but...
I do in mine, so appreciate the tip. That cover can indeed slide around, so I really wonder if that scenario occured. So far we've been fine with the new battery, but I'll pay close attention to...
If it helps any, we just replaced the battery on our 2012 T6 about 1.5 months ago. It would appear to take a charge, but ultimately barely work with low battery warnings. We needed a jump start at...
I can speak to #3, from experience with my 2009 S80 which I believe has a nearly identical interior, and radio in this cae.
I found the mode button (which switches sources) to be sticky,...
I think we're saying the same thing. The warranty provider is banking that the average purchaser will not need repairs valued even close to the policy cost. This ensures a valid business model.
Love this approach, and completely agree.
One caveat though: I would expect that on average, one should come out ahead. There's still the chance that you encounter extremely costly repairs. ...
Got it - quickly scanned "reliability stats" and thus higher seemed "better".
Curious about the 2004 numbers you mention. Why is that year "moderate" with 98 repair trips / 100 cars, while 2006...
I'm not American, but find that generalization a real stretch.
The 2006 stands out as an island in a sea of mediocrity. Any chance it's an anomoly, or is ther something about that MY that suggests better reliabilty?
I think this may help - similar issue for me on an S80:

Common issue, unfortunately. Unsure though if it amounts to a connector/antenna issue, or new head unit as both have been cited as fixes.
I forget, but you can checkout a set of tires on tirerack and see.
I bought TPMS sensors with the package when I got my winter tires and rims from tirerack. They've worked great, and there's no procedure for learning. I simply swap out the tires and all is fine. ...
My guess is that folks on a Volvo forum would tend to recommend the Volvo - go figure.
I presume you've asked the same in a Jeep forum.
I have both an 09 S80 and a 2012 XC70 T6. The interiors are virtually identical in the first two rows, so the difference is really about ride height, AWD (if you consider a FWD S80) and rear cargo...
Does the 2011 support A2DP (audio streaming)? I know the 2012 does, but you may want to confirm first.
I've done this several times, as I've bought 2 Volvos in the US, and import them back to Canada. Like you, I fly down and drive back.
I bring a bank check though, and don't hand over the money...
