Yup the temptation kicked me up the A$$... I should have never removed the driver side axle...
So I got the passenger axle out... And on the left is what I saw (a clear view of what I thought the...
Thanks for the confirmation.
So our XC90 (05 2.5T AWD) just hit 200K miles last week and I'll have to say it has been very reliable vehicle for us. Then last week as my wife was pulling into the garage this happened...

Here's our WTF moment...

Brought it to a mechanic friend and with another help from a Volvo master tech, it was the exhaust cam seal leaking. Check out the PCV oil...
Would this be the same procedure for XC90 2.5T AWD? Just found out from our mechanic the cam seal is leaking.
Will the VIDA DICE scanner pick up ABS?
4 years later i posted this i have yet to change the plugs. oh boy! i better get going. our 05 now has 165k
they have the rings... so i got the correct axles. rides good just the pita "abs" light is on. anti skid temp off message is popping out now too. my el cheapo odb2 scanner doesn't have the abs...
sure is... and the saying "To each his own" lol
Thats what I thought as well. Ebay seller says only abs axles are made for our xc90s. I will verify on my own tomorrow to make sure.
Had my friend/mechanic replaced both front axles (new off ebay) and so far so good! Only issue now is that the ABS light is on. I'll have to check if the sensors got disconnected by accident.
Going on its 2nd winter and so far no complaints. Smooth and quiet on the highway. Great on snow and wet conditions as well.
Darn I noticed the same issue on my wife's 05 2.5T with 163K miles. I've replace the driver side axle with a reman from Ebay a few years back. Might just replace both this time around. Damn...
Anyone need a pair?
You are looking at a pair of Brand New 2003-2007 Volvo XC90 Front Wheel Hub Assembly. For your driver and passenger side. Should fit other XC90 models, but this particular one I bought for my 05 XC90...
When I drove it, it felt normal and smooth on the highway. We got about another 3" of fresh snow this morning (NJ) and my wife said her drive to work and back was good.
Quick delivery by DiscountTiresDirect. Put about 40 miles driving around town and some highway. No issues, very smooth and pretty quiet. I'm happy with the purchase.

Will do.
Ended up getting the Pathfinder Sport S A/T in 245/65/17's. I like the more aggressive thread and had a nice online rebate as well as 60K tread wear warranty. DiscountTireDirect confirmed, no...
Thanks for the confirmation. Might be wise to stick to the original 235's? Would there be a gas mileage difference you think?
I'm close on buying the Geo-Trac TI-500 Radial XLT from DiscountTireDirect. Leaning towards the 245's.
Quick question. Did you go with the same size 235/65/17s or 245/65/17s? BTW, the raised white letters looks really nice especially on your silver XC90. Awesome!
Very nice! Thanks for sharing.
Anyone here do Raised White Letter tires on your XC90? It's time for some new rubber on my wife's XC90 and we've been a fan of the raised white letter tires. Wondering if anyone else here decided...
