In May 2018 I bought a 15.5 XC70 Platinum CPO with 47,500 miles for $30,000 from a Volvo dealer. The warranty is 7 years/100,000 miles. Looking back I wish I'd taken my time with the purchase,...
Hi Pbierre--
I asked Volvo Cars USA for a few things, one being the CPO Report. They did not acknowledge the request. I did, however, request their assistance in locating a suitable replacement...
Update from Loma:
After opening a case with Volvo Cars USA, the Volvo dealership and Volvo Cars USA decided it wants to check the engine oil every 2,500 miles...that I should bring the CPO car back...
I have contacted Volvo and will notify this group of how the oil problem and another issue resolves.
Despite the sale of a CPO being as-is and the engine inspection not checking cylinder...
The $170 is the cost for the 'Engine Performance Restoration Kit'.
I too was surprised at how quickly Volvo Service went against Volvo recommendation of not using oil additives. Seems they've...
Greetings all.
Among other minor inconveniences, I informed Volvo service that my '15.5 T6 xc70 burns 1 quart oil per 2,500 miles. Mileage at this time was 63,000. The 60,000 mile service was...
Just an update here. I recommend the Yokohama Avid TRV tire. I've had them on the vehicle for almost 50k miles, since 2008. Am just now starting to get vibration at high speed. Will consider new...
Hi Jkochis--
I see you replaced the broken power steering reservoir. Did you change the engine and transmission mounts, TCV, and Silicone Boost Tubing Coupler Kit due to failure of these items?
Hi JRL--
Thanks for responding. Aside from the service manual's recommended service, I wanted to hear from drivers about what they've experienced at this mileage or shortly thereafter; things not...
Greetings all:
My '05 xc70 just passed 90,000 miles. To date I've not had any major maintenance worries. Since I prefer to prevent unnecessary and costly visits to the car doctor, what maintenance...
In late 2008 I asked this forum about steering vibrations in my 05 XC70. Many suggestions were offered, mostly about tires. I bought four Yokohama Avid TRV from tire rack as replacements for the...
See my initial post for full details. Thanks to all of you for your valuable insight. New tires are on.
In summary, I have vibration through the steering wheel of an '07 XC70 occurring at speeds...
The original post was about how shaking in the wheel drastically increased after the '05 vehicle's 37,500 scheduled service, and that the dealer did not want to investigate the problem beyond the...
Dyz, did the steering in your 05 shake at high speed? At what total miles did you change original tires and what make were those? I assume you used the original tires for a while aftyer purchase.
A few other brands have come up favorable in my research...any experience with the following?
- Goodyear Assurance Tripletread
- Yokohama YK520
Alright then. Since you identify the worst tire, which brand is smoothest and best for my application?
Bill-
I'll definitely keep your suggestions in mind--especially new tooling manufacturing. Since the brands you mention probably are not available, can you suggest a couple that might be ?
Thanks for your questions and thoughts re: tires. Original to the vehicle are the Pirelli Scorpions. If after having them checked they turn out to be in bad shape or otherwise, I'll make a decision...
All-
I'm new to posting on the XC forum and have learned much in the time taken to research my vehicle's problem. I'm on my second XC70 that has a steering shake/vibration at high speed 70+. The...
