I hate to revive an old thread that hardly anyone will see, but your experience doesn't reflect what many others have had. I recently bought an '06 that now has 173,000 original miles on it. It's a...
Sounds like it's burning oil. Change it ASAP. It wouldn't hurt to add a bottle of Lucas for synthetic oil. See if that helps. There may already be damage (rings etc.).
How's the oil level?
If...
When's the last time the oil was changed, and what brand/type of oil was used?
Has anyone used Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic fluid?
Welcome!
The V8 model is pretty bulletproof. The T6 is the one to avoid - transmission problems. If possible, try to get maintenance records. If none are available, a CarFax report could show a...
I'm hopefully coming back after quite some time away from here and my XC90. I have a bite on an '06 V8 that will be available in a couple weeks. It has about 160,000 miles on it, but my buddy who's...
I wish my '04 2.5T AWD could get anywhere near that gas mileage. It seems to get about 13-14 in general driving and maybe 20 highway. My overall average is about 18, as it's tracked on fuelly.com....
I reset the sound with no improvement. The speaker still seems almost dead.
Hmmm...
I have no idea how to do that. Should I just go into the sound settings and select Reset?
The more I think about it, there was no movement of the cone. I'm thinking the cone's coil has somehow seized.
I finally got the driver's door apart to check the speaker. It's working, but it seems like there's no real power being pushed through it. The volume is low and there's no bass.
Does this sound...
Transmission issues are only with the T6 (2.9L 6-cylinder turbo) 4-speed automatics.
Is it AWD or FWD?
How many miles?
Maintenance records?
The 3rd row seats can start being a bit of a pain....
My guess would be camshaft bearing failure. Maybe someone else knows exactly what it means.
The reason for that guess is Yamaha V8 engines have always been prone to camshaft failures of some...
I think that's what it is. I'll have to remove it to see if I can figure out where it goes.
I think it's 506ZP20. It says P28 Carpet grey on the label. It also has a barcode number of B39973604
'04 XC90 2.5 AWD 7-passenger
This was on the front passenger side floor when I bought it, and I have no idea where it goes. It definitely belongs, as it's stamped Volvo, but I have no clue where.
I have to investigate my left front. It appears dead. I hope it's just unplugged, but I have my doubts.
As for installing a sub, that could be tricky. I'm just going to live without it in mine,...
I got a set of Uniroyal TigerPaw 235/65/17 for $115/tire installed + tax. They seem like a great tire so far.
That's beautiful. I love the interior. Where did you find it?
Has anyone tried different bulbs to get better light output? These lights are pretty lacking, especially the "high" beams.
It almost sounds like something electrical. The "W" button isn't active or sticking, is it?
Probably so, but I do get to Harrisburg area a few times per month, so I'm sure I could make it over that way at some point.
I ordered the GROM unit, which should be here today. My primary goal is for Bluetooth streaming from my phone for music and GPS. I was able to use a $30 coupon when ordering, so total with shipping...
Hey JRL. I'm from Altoona! I'd be interested in it as well, and I could meet up with you somewhere close... if it'll fit the XC90, that is... ;)
The dealership I just purchased mine from had the rear brakes and rotors replaced before purchase. No issues with mine, and it wasn't done at a Volvo dealer.
