Does the angle gear 03-14 36000340 interchange between the xc90 and 2005 xc70 ?
I went to the bone yard to look for a replacement headlight assembly for one of my twin 05s. The donor is an 06. I figured It would have the plastic lenses but it had glass like the 01-04. Do these...
I'll do that. It must be something simple. Thank you!
It's Roxy's patch on Windows 10pro on a usb drive.
Vida loads everything works fine until I hit the "ok" after entering the vehicle profile. Then I get the "root element missing" message. The computer recognizes the device because I can hear the ding...
Correct, I hate to admit it, but I can't tell a lie. I cheesed out on buying the crank locking tool. Could be a very costly mistake for not buying a 45 dollar tool.
Update: Put cam lock tool back on and timing marks all lined up perfect on all three cam gears. Noticed the crankshaft nut was missing. ( did not torque correctly on last timing belt job) Crank gear...
Ok, I'll post some of my thoughts. We know that there are splines on the crank shaft but there are none on cam shaft ends where they meet the vvt hubs/pulleys. Perhaps I did not torque those down...
Lost power and died on the side of the road. Pulled it home and did a VIDA DICE. Codes with yellow lights. CEM-4A31 and 35 Ejector signal and Fuel level . The other two were ECM-340B and 341B Inlet...
A good chance the vvt is the leaker or soon will be with 245k. But what do I know, mine is running like a top.
Ok here's the deal. Loaded means the exact position they were in when the marks lined up with the belt on. On my 2005 dual vvt, this was with the hubs stopped to the clockwise position. The play was...

This is a pretty good video of rotating the cams to their stopping point at the "clockwise" loaded position. Scroll to 5:00 to avoid the locking segment.
Pcv kit all replaced, valve seals, crank seal, exhaust vvt hub. Installing the main seal required mangling the first one. Second one in lieu of the volvo main seal installer I used a 1" o.d.pvc pipe....
As long as you rotated both hubs to the clockwise position where they stop at the marks on the cover and installed your belt with the crank at the same timing mark position you are good to go. It's...
I took the three torx bolts out and opened the injector rail. The black plastic fitting came out and the o ring sits on top of the fitting. Found to get it on and sealed, I held the steel fuel line...
Anyone have instructions for the o ring install on the fuel line/rail connector. It must have popped out when I took it off. Thanks!
Vvt hub was blown out. No in and out movement with the new one. I suspect that's the biggest part of the gusher I had going on. With 275,000 miles, I've got all the seals. Just gonna be careful and...
Homemade steel cam lock tool does not hold. Waiting on the manufacured tool. I noticed about a 1/4" of in and out play on the exhaust vvt hub. Thoughts? Thank you.
I meant to get to the exhaust. There was a lot of oil coming from one, If not all the seals. Figured I'd pull both cam pulleys and inspect/replace ones needed. Very possible the crank seal is puking...
Did you pull the motor mount bolt and lift the motor to get to the intake pulley? Thank you for the pic.
Will do. Thank you for that suggestion. I've read about the one tooth off. I'm gaining some confidence. There's always the thought that it will never run again.
I think the oil sump service is good idea.
Found the timing marks. The mark on the intake side is a very, very small notch. Exhaust side is very visible. Ligned them up with the cover and the slots on the rear are lined up paralell. Nearly...
Thanks for the link. Been watching that one. The 2005 has dual vvt. Not sure if those are spring loaded. I'm just concerned that without the notches for timing marks that I'll sink it up. After...
Well got the manifold off, located the rear banjo bolt for a total line replacement. Got the rear cam covers off and no leaks in the back seals. Couldn't seem to get the swivel 10mm on the hard...
