I responded over on BITOG. have you ever seen this engine and/or transmission go 300-400,000 miles? I'm hoping for 400K with the extreme care I give it....
Thanks! I forgot all about the Nokian! I looked at them when it was the G2 vintage. Is the G4 good for mostly dry summer driving too? I hate swapping tires at different times of the year and just...
Hey guys! I have used Toyo Versado and Versado Noir all season tires for the past 10 years with good results. Just wondering if there is something better that has come out since then? I'd like an all...
I have a 2004 XC70 that has been a wonderful car over the 15 years we have owned it. It now has 170,000 miles and I have replaced a lot of parts over the years keeping it in tip top shape. Looks new...
Ok I went ahead and bought the Toyo Versado Noir for $520 installed. It's been about 1500 miles and they seem like great tires! They are very quiet and have a comfortable ride. Been in one snowstorm...
An All Season tire that does ok in snow. The Versado met our expectations well but it is no longer made. The Versado Noir is supposed to be even better but just wondering if any has tried them or...
So my wife has a 2004 XC70 with 122,000 miles and it has been a great car for the nearly 10 years we have owned it. We need new tires and had Toyo Versados for the past 65,000 miles and they were...
Just hit 120,000 miles in my 2004 XC70. Just replaced the fuel pump and a couple years ago did all five coil packs? Still has the original 2004 battery which just tested good still! Pretty much...
I did a gibbons flush on my 2004 XC70 and I'm chasing the max full line on the dip stick. For the last several days I checked it fully hot and the ATF fluid was in the middle of the "hot" section on...
Plus 2 "O-rings" at $21 each.
UPDATE:
Looks like it was the fuel pump going bad. They took out the back seat access and it was leaking from there. They replaced the fuel pump with an OEM Volvo pump and the smell is 90% gone...
Fuel filter is less then one year old. It is good.
To answer more question: No CEL at all, Yes the fumes are filling the garage when the car sits turned off. Not sure if it smells while running. Does this with empty and full tank I think. No gas was...
A few days ago my 2004 XC70 with 120,000 miles on it started smelling of gasoline fumes badly! Mostly it fills the garage with gas fumes. The car does not smell on the interior(maybe slightly). I...
I have had my XC70's oil analyzed many times over the years. Here is a link to the latest using Mobil 1 0w40. It is a little confusing but read through the old post and then see the new results on...
So I did a Gibbons tranny flush on my 2004 XC70 and I'm having a hard time getting the fluid level right on the full mark. I know I'm very close to having the correct amount of ATF in the...
Is that why my car spun 360? I would think the front tires would help pull straight through and not allow the car to spin like that on the snow packed road.
Thanks gentlemen! So based on my description does it sound like my AWD is working properly?
I thought my AWD might not be working correctly. I was on a snow packed road With my 2004 XC70 that was super smooth and frozen solid. While turning left I gave it some gas and my XC70 accelerated...
One more question: I do notice when first starting a drive in the morning the 1 to 2 shift is noticeably harder but not hard enough to think it has a problem. It smooths out as the car warms up. Is...
I haven't had a chance to test her out just yet. If my AWD has failed and needs to be repaired what is the worst case, price wise, to have the AWD system repaired? Thanks!
I'll do the Gibbons method then. May I ask why not to use the flush machine? I have had cars and trucks much older and with more miles flushed with a machine and never has a tranny have problems...
ok Thanks guys! I'll try the snow trick. If all the tires break free and spin does that mean it is working? I ask because if I'm turning and hit the gas the back end slides out like it is rear wheel...
I have a 2004 XC70 and I'm Just wondering how to tell if the AWD is working correctly? Is there a way to test it out? If it was not working would a warning light come on? Many thanks!
