I do a dailey mixture of city, rural mountain, and highway driving. My front pads had to be done at 60K miles and my rear pads at 80k.
A very Merry Christmas to all and wishes for a happy New Year.
My spare key, which is kept in a drawer at my house, is getting sticky. It seemed weird to me because it is hardly ever used. The one I keep in my pocket is fine.

Really great job!

The OEM passenger side wiper is curved. You installed them correctly.[thumbup]
The message goes away as soon as you find the correct bulb.
I think you are referring to a product that IPD used to sell. I believe the reason the quit was that it drained the battery.
Those are great pics. Makes me wish I could have joined you. Thanks for sharing.
That's perfectly normal. If you want to see the message again, while the car is still running, press the switch on the end of the turn signal. It will come on for a short time and then go out again.
That seems a bit odd since the socket that the bulb plugs into is actually part of the wiring harness not the headlight assembly.
Do you suppose it's an official Volvo accessory? ;)
I think all mufflers get louder as they age. I'm now at 67,000 miles. The noise has increased but I haven't had any problems.
I don't think it's anything to worry about.
The only difference I see is the side markers have been moved up to the side mirrors.
I'll stick with MY03
I had the Vadis update 2 weeks ago at the 60K service.
My symptoms started with a slight flare around 40mph. I thought it was my imagination, from reading all the discussions here. About a...
Right after I started looking at the XC's, I saw one of the volvoxc.com window stickers on a car that passed me in Portland, Or. This site is what made me decide the XC70 was the car I wanted. It...
My 2003 is running great. [thumbup]
I've had to replace the tires and just noticed the door seal is wearing where I get in and out of the drivers side. Too many tight parking slots around...
2003 with 61,000 miles.
No service problems only scheduled maintenance.
Always starts and gets me where I want to go.
IMHO I believe driving habits and terrain have a lot to do with how long the brakes pads last. By my calculation, 20km is about 12,500 miles. I have over 60,000 miles on my original pads and they...
It's possible that the thermostat is not closing completely. That would increase the time it takes to warm up but wouldn't cause overheating.
The proper way is to measure the thickness of the rotors with calipers. All of the rotors are supposed to marked with a minimum thickness at which they are allowed to be turned.
If the roters...
I borrowed a Nav system from a friend for a trip last summer. I found my dash gauge to be quite accurate. Diff was maybe 2mph at sustained speed of 80. I must add that I began using the Nav...
When I was in the process of looking for a car, I drove a V70 and then an XC70. The XC70 was a little harsher on uneven surfaces. It still felt smoother than the VW passat AWD and the Rover...
Thanks for the pictures Art. Beautiful country and great Pics of the car. I think it looks great as-is.
plopband,
A lot of the auto parts shops now offer to check codes for free. AutoZone and Schucks both offer this service in my area. I would go to your local auto parts store and ask if they will...
