New xc70 owner...a few questions.

I picked up this 2000 XC70SE last week. The car had some work done recently (coil pack, control arms, O2 sensor, speed sensor, mass airflow sensor, brakes and rotors, motor mounts. Cooper tires new in late spring 2011.), and I got it for $2000 with 160,000. I think I got a pretty good deal, but I was told that it needs a new catalytic converter. The woman I bought it from said that her mechanic scanned codes for CEL and it shows that the cat is bad. It has a slight exhaust vibration under acceleration, the exhaust smells kind of strong, and it doesn't seem as powerful as it should be.

I stopped at a very reputable exhaust shop and got a quote of somewhere around $350-$400 to install a new one. Does that sound like a good price?
