I think I got the answer I was looking for. I needed to make sure where the rings will be, at least get me prepared before I get there. Now I know why the set comes in one green and two yellow rings.

Great picture!
Now we know...
Better than my description is IPD's instructions for the flush, which you can download (even without buying the kit) here:

Just called CarQuest parts store in town, gave them the part number 988840 (yellow o-ring), they have it but theirs is green. Then I gave her the part number 968757 (green o-ring), she said that is green also. For them, both parts are green in color. Very confusing. Looking at online pictures, the green one looks a hair thicker. Why not make both ends use the same o-ring? Oh well! I'll reuse the inner yellow ring since I need to do the project this weekend.
I've measured these o-rings in the past. Not sure if these measurements are 100% accurate but as close as I could get to the available metric sizes available. I had planned on purchasing these size o-rings to have them on hand but haven't done it yet so can't confirm if these size o-rings will work. You can see though the two are different sizes and not interchangeable.
The green o-ring measured 2.5MM CS X 11mm ID

The yellow o-ring measured 1.78mm CS X 10.82mm ID

Yep, the green is larger. And maybe it's just me, though the yellow one is thinner, it feels softer.

The ID is close but the 2.5mm cross section makes the green o-ring larger overall.
It could be the yellow o-ring is softer, lower durometer o-rings are softer and seal better but not for high pressure use. The trans coolant lines are low pressure so a lower durometer(softer) o-ring can be used.
