Is it me, or does the search function not work on finding posts from before the change to the new format? :p
I also find the new format's search to have very few returns :(
Same here.
Same here - I even e-mailed the site manager (If I understand his role correctly) and here is the response:
Search criteria has not changed with the new format, it has always required a minimum of four characters. This is due to the fact that we have limited resources and our database cannot support the storage required for 2-3 character length searches.
I've updated the search results with some more information on that, as well as an option to search the site with Google, which does not have the four character limitation.

I find doing a Google search like this works well:
"door latch" site: www.volvoxc.com
hi guys,
could you please post some links to specific search queries where you've noticed the problems? Or just post up the search terms where you're encountering the issues, anything longer than 3 characters of course.
The from there I'll have a baseline from which to figure things out.
Thanks!
Try "radiator" which will only return 48 threads.
Most of the subsystems have 3 letter Volvo acronyms (eg. MAF, ETM, TCM, SRS, CCM) so >3 letter constraints is a bit difficult to use.
"ETM cleaning" search string pulled up 2 results
ETM search string pulled up nothing
So not sure how to search for some info on ETM
Update: Nevermind, just have to type it in again when it suggest to use google search on this site for 2-3 character searches :)
Looks like they fixed it! Searching "radiator" now returns 386 threads instead of 48 which is what it returned when I tried this morning. Good work!
DYZ
search results should be functioning properly once again. Took all morning yesterday to re-index the database, and looks like we're back to normal.
Can't fix the 1-3 character keyword search issue. As much as I'd like to have support that, we've lived with it til now and as noted, the site:volvoxc.com KEYWORD works without consuming our hosting's precious resources.
Cheers!
Taylor.
