Looked over users on this forum and your name keeps coming up as the guy to talk to. I am a 30 year journeyman mech. Worked on a lot of volvos, but all rear wheel drive stuff. I recently purchased a 2000 v70 XC. Its been real hot and I thought I would just put in a low mileage used motor. Not a lot of information on what will go in it, other than wrecking yards telling me only a 2000 motor will work. The car has 141000 miles its a vin 56. (Question) If I strip the motors down to the long block what motors will go in this car and work with the electronics well enough to pass California smog when I am done.
