One of the most annoying parts about a DIYS kid of project, is figuring out that the kid at the parts counter gave you a wrong part.
Even though I brought my old ones in, he still didn't 'get it'.
It appears that our Volvo's come with two sizes of rotors - when you go to the counter, the kid will ask you "what size is your rim". I said 16". He ordered the Brembo's at a reasonable price and I picked them up. I noticed they looked different and were heavier. Duh.
Took them home this evening after putting the new pads in the calipers and put on the new blank rotor... uhhh ohhh. They're not going on. WTF.
I have the wrong rotors - I need the smaller set. !@(#$$&&@&@
Anyways, lesson learned. Its a frackin PITA to call back, say "you gave me the @#$*$* wrong part" blah blah blah.
So, the lesson is, when ordering rotors for a Canadian XC70's, M E A S U R E your rotor. Don't let a kid decide for you.
