I want to mount a large (180 cm x 110 cm) roof rack on my 2004 model XC70 for a long overland trip in Africa. Does anyone know the LOAD LIMITS of the roof rails on the XC70, or where I can get such information?

Check your owners manual or here (http://www.jimfishervolvo.com/pages/owners/manuals/models/2004_XC70/2004XC70Chapter09.htm#pg145). It's 220 lbs or 100 Kg.
