My wife finds the ease of getting out of our XC70 very much easier than for our previous S80. I presume this is related to the extra height above ground level that the XC70 offers compared to the S80.

Her words were it's gentle and natural vs. having to heave and pull/push out. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Major house points earned http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

For me I find there's little difference in the required effort.

Barry,

Your Volvo observations never cease to amaze me!? You clearly have much too much time to observe, digest, adjust and then post your numerous "Volvoisms" here. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif

That is one of the major reasons my wife wanted the car as well.

There's not "too much time" but rather there's "too little time". For me, time passes by too quickly so I make use of it as best I can. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Take care. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Obviously our wives are kindred spirits. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif or at least they have at least one thing in common. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

For my wife, a car is a utilitarian device. Of course she does like the winter handling of the 99XC over the 87 740!-Dick

Nothing you cant change by cutting back on your sleep ... maybe waking a little early so you can "OBSERVE" in peace and quiet... and still live a "normal" productive day...

I did similar stuff with my Audi for the first 6 months I have alsorts of weird pict that people cant even identify , i.e the the slits behind in the front of the wheel well to allow for venting of the intercooler in front, or extreme closeups of the NACA ducts underneath the front air dam!

Toots!

The ease of access/egress for the elders we would be transporting in this car was one of the many reasons we chose the XC70.
