i posted a few weeks back that I was getting a REDUCED ENGINE PERFORMANCE message every now and again when starting my XC. the RPM's would shoot up, the car wouldn't start, i'd get the messsage and then the car would start.
a few people told me that it might be the key/remote. well, Volvo called me and said the crankshaft has some play in it and they will have to replace the ENTIRE engine!
he told me that he has a call into the VIP hotline to make sure it's covered. it should be becuase it's a certified car under @ 52k and the deealership always serviced the car.
