Sun Roof

My sunroof opens whenever it feels like it, and times when I do not feel like it. Does anyone have a suggestion. I suspect the switch but an independent Volvo shop said they may be able to read the codes to get a clue. I think he wants to read the codes to get into my wallet. Does a switch, a motor, a limit switch need to be routed into the ODBII?

New one on me, but it's not CanBus as in the later cars so it should be easier to trace
