Don't know for sure, but the XC70 does come with a 17" wheel option, so it is highly likely that the wheels from the XC90 will swap I would be surprised if they are different than the XC70 factory options, since both are current generation products. Not that it makes any difference, but when you get the factory option 17's on the XC70, they come with speed sensitive steering as part of the deal.

Hi,
They will fit but not perfectly snug, therfore you might feel minor vibrations. The hub size for an XC70 is 65.1mm and for the XC90 I've seen info of 67.1mm or 67.3mm. I asked my brother in law to machine me hub centering rings to be used with my 18" Atlantis wheels, they are 2mm thick using 65.2mm as the starting point. He used a plastic synthetic materiel and held up quite well all summer long.

Hope this helps,

If the hub sizes are not exacctly the same, you are out of your mind to run them without spacers. IMO. Volvo's I believe use hub-centered wheels, which means that the entire weight of the car is supported on the hub, not on the studs. If that hub fit is not tight, you will have all sorts of added movement and potential for catastrophic failures.

It's not quite that dire a situation, actually. The hubcentric design certainly does aid in getting the wheel centered quite precisely when the lug bolts are tightened. Those bolts and the friction of the wheel against the hub support the vehicle's weight. The little lip in the middle of the hub is important only to have the wheel situated correctly when the lub bolts are tightened.

There are many sources for hub centric adaptor rings including that bastion of commerce eBay. Search for "hub centric rings" and you'll find many listings from a company called Eurosport. If they dont' list what you need, they will make them for you. Note that these are made from a tough engineering plastic material and worl very well in my expereince. I have used them on several BMWs which are notoriously picky about wheels.

You can also get these from Tire Rack but they seem reluctant to sell the rings unless they are for wheels that they are selling.

...ned.

The problem that you will face in acquiring hub adapters is the fact that they sell adaptors for aftermarket wheels that may fit more then one model. BTW nocconen when I tried purchasing a set of hub centric adaptors they didn't recommend them because it was an oem wheel and for (the wheel is made to cup the hub) and I wasn’t dealing with Tirerack.

As for not being in the right frame of mind mbls98, I do agree that I personally wouldn’t install without them (and I haven’t) but with the less then 2mm difference would probably not be catastrophic imo.

These rims looks great on this car, Antaeus 17" for XC90.

I will buy a set of these for the summer, I have to get new ones, as I put my wintertires on the Tellus-rims. :) Nice way of forcing oneself to upgrade! Please dont tell my wife.
