I have been driving my 02 for 2 weeks now and love the car...BUT....The cornering on the car leaves me a concerned.  I recently posted a thread on the Volvo strut brace but have had no input from people that have them yet.
My problem is heightened by the fact that I put a 60 lb Packasport 90 roof topper on it and have a slightly higher center of gravity.

Can anyone suggest some reasonable changes that I can make to beef up my suspension a bit.  If you know of spings and shocks for the cvar please let me know what to look at.

Thanks

George

I responded to the last post too. That is where this post shoud be. Also there are a lot of post talking about the suspension. I might suggest a search. CALL IPD the are in the marketplace section. they sell rool bars, they will stop 90% of the lean you want to correct. You state the fact that you carry the racks and that would have been good info for us to go on in the last post. You don't want T5 handeling, you just want less lean and wander. Talk to IPD.

No offense meant, just give us the details so we can help.

George,

Nice to have another fellow Albertan on board! http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I'm not aware of any members in this forum who have upgraded their suspension. Just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of domestic aftermarket components for MY2001 XC's and up. As Jason mentioned, IPD might be your best source for answers.

However, I did come across this discussion (http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=10194) over at Swedespeed. Seems like this fellow had a VST (http://www.reiz.co.jp/vst/english/accesoryframe.html) front tower strut brace installed on his '01 V70 T5. Perhaps if you PM/e-mail him he could give you his opinion and perhaps the name of his supplier.

George,

Here's the link (http://www.vpt-usa.com/) to the VST USA supplier.

As a past critic of the 2nd gen handling, I have learned to be more cautious at speeds above 70 mph with my 03XC. As an engineer, I have decided that you cannot "make a silk purse out of a sow's ear". -Dick
