What does this mean?

Hello All,

Thanks for all the help I have already received here!

I am wondering what this means? My info panel display has shown all of the little lights lit and next to the time display it reads "dISC". It has happened a few times but goes away after a couple of minutes or when I turn the info dial to another option.

Hopefully nothing serious.

My 00 XC does the same thing. I just giggle the switch and it goes away. I'm also wondering what it means. It doesn't do it all the time.

My 2000 XC's also does this. I only noticed it once I installed CD Changers. I can't imagine that the changers would cause this. Does anyone else have changers installed?

dISC as in disconnected. A lot of guys, when they take the dash apart, will often times unplug where the display connects and reconnect the connection with some di-electric grease. It usually stops dISC from happening again. If it still chronically occurs, then you have a deeper problem.

I talked to my Volvo mechanic about it, and he says that it is the onboard computer/diagnostics reseting, so who knows.

Mine does the same thing. Wiggling the swtich usually makes it go away.
