This morning I spilled coffee down the console near the shifter. The next time I drove the car I got the message gear selection reduced performance. I was able to get home but could not get the car out of neutral. I called my dealer and he thought I had gummed something up and would need to get the car to them an hour drive away. Later that day, I was able to get the car out of neutral and into park. Now the car won't shift from park. I don't want to try to force it but will need to get it in reverse to get out of the driveway. Any thoughts? This is an 01 XC.
