I have ordered my XC on the 18th of January at Volvo Auto Poland.
My contract says "delivery in 16 weeks" http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif
Innitially I hoped they are joking http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
They didn't http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
Anyhow - I am getting better now http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif , although I am a little angry, because I didn't asked about CD changer. I drive 940 now (Fuuuull option) and I am used to the changer. I wanted a moderate looking radio (in order not to attract thieves - quite annoying individuals in my country), so my choice was HU-403. Now I have realised that I can only attache oryginal changer which costs more that 1000 US$ with instalation. I can afford this, but I got angry, that Volvo is closing their system just to make me stupid. Or maybe "other CD Changers has not been crash tested" http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Someone posted that ALPINE changers can be used. From what I learned (I haven't checked it myself), the CD signal is coded, so simple wire to wire connection will not work. Anyone have done it with original Volvo radio???

Just to keep you informed, as the battle with Volvo started. Today passes 17.5 weeks after I have ordered my car. Last Friday Volvo salesman called me for the first time on his initiative since I've ordered the car, asking about some potential add-ons and - "by the way" -  informed me that the car should be "transported to Poland" in one week (18 weeks since the day  of order). This means that the car will be mine in two weeks. I got a little mad. I am waiting now for their proposal - how they want to settle this "great customer care". Unfortunately the contract itself says "approximately 16 weeks", but informing me that the car "will be" delayed after 17 weeks is just arrogant.
What would you do in my place? I can not go out of the contract (I paid roughly 3'000 Euro prepayment) and I want Volvo.  http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Hi!

Hmm quite difficult. I know that here in germany you cannot do anything against a delay up to 8 weeks when you have a standard contract. My V.O.R. was scheduled for January in the contract, and I received the car end of march. Hmm. I drove a V40 from the dealer from the beginning of january - very cheap.

Yesterday, after more than 20 weeks waiting time I drove out my XC from the dealer. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
These are the options that I ordered: Photos will follow!

nautic blue
Black ( in real life they are very dark grey) leather seating surfaces
nivomat
BiXenon fron lights
DSTC (this is the first XC with DSTC in Poland)
electronic air condition
trip computer
cruise control
laminated side windows
power sunroof
radio HU-403
full size spare tyre
autodim rear mirror
waste bin/bottle holder

Front and rear skid plate is an option here, but I realised that everybody orders them. That is why I didn't http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif So my car is different, and looks really nice.

Unfortunately delivery has been 4 weeks delayed. Volvo offered me free of charge cargo compartment protective grate. On top of that I received from them new model of Nokia Phone.
Delayed delivery can happen to any company, but the style Volvo has handled it is just superb.

Next week I am installing CD changer, D pilar treble speakers and rubber mats.

Congraulations trzesnk! Hope you enjoy your car. I am still waiting for mine. My car dealer promissed me delivery till the end of July. I hope I'll have more luck than you had.
