I like to do as much of my own maintenance as possible, but how do I turn off the "service required" message that shows up in my message screen. The Owners Manual only says that the dealer will do it during servicing.
Thanks

Welcome to VolvoXC.com.

For questions such as this try using the search function. If posting a question it's a good idea to specify your model year.

Anyway, as recently posted by Pennhaven:

Volvo Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) reset - for MY2003+ as follows:

-Key in position I, (accessory).
-Press and hold trip reset button for trip odometer.
-Turn key to position II, (run) within 2 seconds.
-Hold trip reset button until original value reset. If trip odometer is already reset the reset button should be held in for a minimum of 10 seconds and a maximum of 14 seconds.
-When general yellow lamp lights release trip reset button within 4 seconds.
-Instrument panel gives audible signal confirming reset if successful.
-Switch off ignition.
-Start and check, message should be gone.

Light will come on according to preset service intervals or after 750 hours of driving or 12 months and remain on for two minutes after starting until reset.
