Hey guys
I really feel the normal headlights on the XC are not that good. I want to change the bulbs, but now i am not sure what to get.
1. Is it hard to change the bulbs? Will the beam be straight?
2. Are blue vision (HID wanabees) OK?
3. I really like HID do they compare to the Philips Blue Vision?
4. Any Advice?http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif?
Thanks Lance

Hey Lance,

Replacing the H7's is easy. Just a matter of having slender fingers will make the job of sliding the new bulbs in go much faster. A quick twist of the plastic housing that covers the bulb and then by loosening the retaining spring that holds the bulb in place and voila! Just remember not to touch the glass portion of the bulb with your fingers. Your owner's manual can walk you through the process. The bulbs are pretty well guaranteed to shoot straight since there is only one way to seat them properly back in their compartments.

I can't comment on the performance of the Blue Vision lights, but I can say that I do get excellent light projection from the Phillips Vision Plus bulbs that I installed a while ago. http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hi!

I drove my Audi with the Philips blue vision before - now my XC with Bi-Xenon. Absolutly not comparable :-))

Blue vision is only another light color, there is no enhancement in the brightness. The light emitting power is the same - but you eyes is reaction different to the wither white of the blue vision.

Its a little bit better than normal lights - but only a little bit. Changing the H7 bulbs is easy - so try it for yourself.
