Mirror noise - driver and passenger sides

Just picked up my 2002 xc70 and took it for an extended drive over the weekend. Only one complaint - a little excess road noise, seemingly coming from the mirror assemblies on both the drive and passenger sides.

I've seen a few posts on this site that suggest that there's a fix, but I don't think I've seen what the actual fix is. Does anyone have information on this?

And keep in mind - it's not a rattle, it doesn't sound like the windows are open - just seems like it's a little louder than it should be.

On my 2002 I also had excessive wind noise from the passenger side mirror, my dealer lessened it by adjusting the placement (sorry I don't a have additional details on how they did that). But it was never as quiet as my 2004.

While certainly pricey, you might consider upgrading to the 05-06 mirrors if it's that much of an irritation to you. They cut arm height space between the mirror and window dramatically. It's probably 2-3 times thinner.
