Remote start

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to have a remote starter installed on a 2005 XC70? My dealer says no, because of the key and how it functions. Is that true?

That's not true, for the remote start module and brain, they also sell a electronic key store that goes to the remote starter brain, thats what my friend had to do with my 00 v70xc when he installed it saying all the newer electronic keys have to do that. All you'll have to do is give up 1 key and go to the dealer and get another which is pretty expensive, so I recommend not getting 1 because you'll end up paying a lot for the remote start, possible alarm upgrade, the key module, installation, plus if you want to make another key, going to cost you a lot if your willing to do it.
