Etm Notice

Has anyone recieved their notice about the ETM? I called the 800 number and they told me I would recieve a letter about the ETM and instructions to how and get my money refunded for the failed ETM that I had replaced.

I called again this week asking for a faxed copy of the letter so I could get reimbursed for my failed ETM. I was told they could not send me a letter because Volvo had outsourced this task. When pressed they gave me the address and instructions to send the letter to Memphis. I sent my original receipt and expect a check in 4-5 weeks.

Today I replaced the etm on my XC. I am curious to find out any information regarding reimbursement of my costs. Does anyone have the number to call?

Bluecanoe are you saying you paid for an ETM replacement today? Why would they charge you? Is this like rebate where we pay for it then have to get reimbursed? That doesn't sound right given the letter that was posted here some time ago.

I asked the dealer when I was there the other day, he said volvo doesn't give money back for etm's that were done, and they give a 10 yr 100k mile warrenty, but I think he was full of .
I'd like to find out how I can get any money back that I spent, and spread the word I bet others who don't even know that they could get there money back too. I spoke to 1 lady who had a 99 v70 said she didn't want to say how much she spent on her etm plus a lot of other stuff the dealer did cause of the etm. It's a shame we all have to go through this, cause of there mistake.

The information you need is at this site. Copy pages and take them to the dealer. The etm letter is there also. Please make a report to NHSTA if you have not already. The only way volvo owners will get a redesigned part is if they are forced. The part they currently putting in is failing at even higher rates (I have seen reports of as early as 8,000 miles).

Never mind. I saw the link when I was in the process of sending. Sounds like it does not affect the 2003 models.
