Steering Wheel Audio Controls Not Working

So I just noticed that the steering wheel audio controls on my HU-613 equipped 04 don't seem to function.

Is there a special setting on the head unit that I should check before adding it to the short list of warantee issues I have for the car?

Well, I drove the car for the first time at night this evening, and the although the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel work and light-up fine, the audio controls do not even light up.

So I am thinking that a connector or fuse is at fault. Before handing this to the dealer, any tips on easy things to check first?

Not without removing the airbag module. Likely the result of a faulty audio control switch or connection from the contact reel as you surmised.

I have the same symptoms with my HU-613 lights and steering wheel controls. Did you ever figure out what the problem was? Would love to know.
