View Full Version : Hardwire power for Sattelite Radio?

I'm a n00b to this site and think its great! Has anyone figured out an EASY way to bypass having to plug a satellite receiver into the 12V jack and get power hardwired. I have a 2001 XC70.

Somewhere I saw a post about taking the cigarette lighter adaptor apart, solderng wires directly to the voltage regulator inside, and tapping that to the lighter power in the console. I don't know if you'd consider this easy but it's clean.

Any garage should be able to do it.
I had my radar detector hardwired to the fusebox by the dealership.
