Hi,

Yesterday when my wife was driving the car she ran over something and that something ricocheting hit the passenger side mirror and shattered it. The shell of the mirror is not damaged at all. Can you advise what my options in terms of fixing it are? Can only the mirror part be replaced in existing shell or the entire part need to be replaced? And if anyone know the price of the part or the price of entire repair? Appreciate all your suggestions

Len,

Borton Volvo (http://www.borton.com/images/s80repl.jpg) has instructions posted on their website on how to remove the side view mirror glass. Replacement glass can either be ordered through them or your own dealer.

Hope that helps. :)

Art,

Thanks a lot. Seems like an easy fix.
Love this forum!

Thanks Art,

Got the mirror yesterday and installed it as your post suggested.
Didn't have to ask the dealer's favor.

Glad to hear that Len. :)

Did you get regular or wide angled glass? According to their parts online, Borton also sells water resistant wide angled glass.

I've got original from the dealer, same price. I don't know if it's wide angled or regular. The glass has three water drops on it.
