I've been waiting patiently for a good solution for my iPod in the Volvo and here's one manufacturer that looks promising. They are evaluating whether to develop the IceLink for our Volvos. If you care please add yourselves to the "Add to wait list".

Ok, so I added myself to the waitlist. I have the HU-803 and have also been looking for a solution to use a MP3 player in the car.

As of present I do not have a MP3 player at all, so could you give me some hints on what model to get or point me to some links about tests etc.

Do you recon you would install the Icelink yourself?

All inputs appreciated.

Sounds like a nice innovation.  I'm considering purchase of a used '01 XC70, and so far lack of iPod ability is one of the few faults I've seen.  I've definitely added myself to the wait list, though I was hoping there might be a cheaper way to do it...

Regardless, anyone have actual experience with IceLink on other vehicles?

I purchased and installed an (a?) Icelink kit in my '02 with HU-613 head unit (read prior post).

Not only did I absorb the cost of postage both ways when the unit wasn't compatible, they took over four weeks AFTER receiving my return (to their private mail box i.e. MailBoxes etc. or similar) to process my return - a learning experience costing me $35. Beware!?

For those willing to change out their stereo, Alpine is making head unit that will control iPod coming out VERY soon.
