Ones more about tires. Nokian announced the new tire “Z”.

I like it and would like to replace stock STR’s with it. But the sizes 215/55/16 or 225/60/16 or 235/16. Not exactly the required for XC 70 size. 3 dealers in Moscow (total 4) strongly suggest stay in the 215/65/16 even though they don’t know why !
Frighten me warranty issues.

I know from Gibbon’s post he is doing quite well with WR 235/60/16.

I tend to install the new Nokian’s but not quite sure about size 225 or 235. :confused:

If you want to go with Nokian as summer tire and stay with the same size. Nokian has NRVi in 215/65/16 its an V rated tire.

I read an article about tires for SUV here in Sweden and the only tire who was better than STR was Nokian NRVi.

´Continental and Michelin come in 3 and 4 place.

Meaning that the OEM STR are not that bad tire for summer use.

They were very abstract since don’t know which way 235/60/16 can harm the car. Thinking about sending an enquiry to Volvo Russia about this case.
As you have DSTC do you notice any difference in the DSTC behavior since you moved to 235/60?

Thanks jbl or JBL? for your attention to my little problem. I know about NRVi but I think Z will do a better job for me here in Moscow region .
Tests are very tricky and vary from country to country, for example German ADAC placed Conti over STR last year. I prefer dedicated summer tire over all- season one. STR’s considered by many drivers as very noisy …

DSTC works fine. The Haldex system has no problem with the tire perimeter. As I see, you have a My05, so Viscous Coupling issues won't bother you.
