2001 XC70 Average Milage

The XC70 I have been driving has been telling me that its average milage is 13.8 mpg. This seems way off the 18/22 that the car is supposed to do. Any ideas why this is so off?

What kind of driving do you do?

Do a manual calculation of your gas mileage to see if it is truly accurate or not. If it is, you've either got something wrong with the car, or you need to untie that cinder block from your foot. :)

Try restting the computer next time you drive it. Hold the reset butten in for about 5 seconds and it will reset itself.

Might be too early to call, since we're still on our very first tank of gas, but our new XC70's computer claims to be averaging around 24 mpg around town. 'Course we're still babying it because it's new (to us).
