V8 Pricing Announced

Anaheim, CA (October 27, 2004) – Volvo Cars of North America, LLC (VCNA) today announced an aggressive pricing strategy for its first V8 powertrain, packaged in its award-winning XC90 SUV. The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for the new XC90 V8 is $45,395, well-equipped. The XC90 V8 is scheduled to go on sale in the first quarter of 2005, as a '05 model.

$45k MSRP is really not bad - and about what I expected. That's about $4k more than a T6 model, but with quite a few "extras". The versatility package is standard in the V8 along with larger wheels, color matched body trim and door handles, upgraded AWD, and of course the bigger engine and 6-speed trans.

When you factor in the vers pkg alone that's a savings of $2100 which cuts the difference to only $1900.
