Have anyone seen a site regarding volvos, (xc70) in the movies?
When I had a SAAB 9-5 there were several sites like that.

Perhaps a new part of this site?

I saw an XC70 in one of the driveways on the new TV show "Desperate Housewives"...

I also heard word that in the next Bond movie, he'll opt for a more sensible family car ;-)

the only film I saw an XC70 in is the movie "Timeline"
in the end of the film, the last 2-3 minutes, an XC70 comes up for a park on a dirt road, in "almoast" high speed.

It just accured to me that the reson why there are so few sites regarding this, maybe the fact of copyright material.

School of Rock was obliterated with Volvos to the point of silliness. Can't recall if there was an XC70, but guessing there was.

There was an XC70 in Vanilla Sky (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0259711/) in a few of the scenes.

I haven't seen the movie, but did notice an XC70 in the trailer for School of Rock (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0332379/) with Jack Black.
Both were Nautic Blue :)

And the main protagonist (Seth Davis) in Boiler Room (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0181984/) drove a white Gen1 V70XC.

That's all I can remember right now :)

Originally posted these some time ago. The videos don’t really qualify as movie material, but I thought that they might still provide some entertainment value...particularly for our Swedish friends. :) Sorry, no English subtitles folks. :(

Hard to ignore the scenery over there, but it left me yearning to see more footage of the cars.

I have some clips, one of them with various SUV's climbing up a snow hill, and one with a XC70 playing around in a snowy parking lot.
Can I upload them here somewhere?

Was it Freaky Friday where the gal and her mom switch bodies? Anyway, the mom had an S80 and there was a comment about driving the Volvo as if it was a big treat for the daughter. After the movie, in the bloopers special feature on the DVD, they are interviewing the actor and there was a green XC sitting in the background.

I wonder how much (if any) Volvo paid for that exposure? I remember popular legend about Snapper paying to have Forest Gump use their mower.

The main character in a French language sitcom on national TV (Radio-Canada or CBC) is driving a black XC70 every week. The program is called "La vie rêvée de Mario Jean" (translation: "The Dream Life of Mario Jean"), in which the leading actor plays... himself!

And I've read for a fact that he's driving his own car, a '04 Black XC70. No footage available though...

There's a V70XC (or XC70) in the new movie "Hide & Seek" starring Robert de Niro and Dakota Fanning. I think de Niro's character drives it.

I'd bet for sure that they paid for the exposure. Product placement is a widespread practice. I work for a U.S. company that is heavily into marketing, and has just recently gotten into product placement. We pay handsomely for a few seconds of a major film character dangling one of our products.
