FYI
The most recent Navtech DVD map data is dated Nov 2002.
Next DVD map data release is Nov 2003 and it's cost is likely to fall between $250 and $290.
Each new released DVD disc carries a 30-day full refund policy. After 30 days it becomes somewhat more difficult to get a refund.
Some new releases WILL contain new system software features and/or bugfixes. However, knowledge of these items in advance isn't likely to be known by Navtech. Only when you receive the new DVD package would you find Insert Notes about this.
Navtech does not provide any facility for you to obtain a personal backup of the DVD disc. It's a double layer DVD and most consumer type DVD-RW devices aren't capable of burning double layered DVDs -- and I'm sure they're expensive. It might be possible to have a commercial shop dup it for you. Navtech said there's no legal issue over making personal backups, but it's the consumer's responsibility for making them. Their only personal backup provision is to sell you another DVD http://xc70.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
