Anyone have any suggestions on good brands to source a cat back exhaust from for a 2007 Volvo XC70? After a 800 mile road trip the other weekend, I started to smell some exhaust getting in and out of the car. I noticed there is a small hole that developed in the first muffler after the cat. Pretty sure this is the original exhaust that came with the car. One winter in the rust belt was too much I guess...

Not sure if the second muffler could bolt up again though, may need to do the entire thing back from the cat.

I've read the OEM Volvo replacement exhausts are not as good as the ones from factory. As much as I'd like to continue putting OEM parts into my newly acquired XC70, this seems like a part that may not really need that cost. Trying to save money because I overpaid in the used market last Summer....

123K on the odometer.

Thanks,

Take a look at upsw.com. I bought their exhaust muffler for my 2007 and was pleased with the product and fit. They also sell the resonator pipe with or without the muffler.

Might be cheaper to have a straight pipe welded in there. The resonator (the first muffler) doesn’t make a lot of difference.

Thanks! I'll check that place out. I've never heard of that site but seems to be what I was looking for.

I installed a Jetex catback and took it off only 1.5 hours later. Thanks, no. Bought a new Volvo catback, never been a problem. It was in 2019. I haven't seen any quality difference, it looked very solid, compared to welded junk it replaced. The only difference is the muffler was detachable, not a solid unit, like the factory one.
