There are a variety of crash test reports out there but this one gives a nice color chart for each vehicle and you can scan the overall performance for each manufacturer very quickly.

You'll note that the entire volvo line is awesome, going back to the 240 series. Just for grins, take a look at Chevy Truck (the class where the Trail Blazer is located) or take a peek at Chrysler Corp. I can't believe how many black and red boxes those companies have, and volvo has none. Pretty awesome, but of course, we already knew that when we bought them!

Go to the very bottom of the page, click on the manufacturer you want to review, and notice there is just about NOBODY who has as good a corporate record as Volvo.

Here's another look

Got it yesterday... looks and rides great. The wife loves it and if the wife is happy, everyone is happy.

My wife traded her 850 GLT at my urging, and was kinda happy about it, but said she wasn't ready to really let go of her great sedan with the nice leather, sunroof, great stereo, etc., and when we cut the deal they took it right then and gave us a loaner until the XC90 was ready.

My big mistake was to let her go off on her own the first day. I thought it would be generous and fun to just say "have a great day" and be done with it, but wow, I got a call and she was really disturbed, and said she didn't like the steering wheel and the vehicle was too big. She had a couple other things to mention too, including she wanted our money back.

I had to walk her through everything, drive it around while she watched and listened to the motor, etc. I had to show her "if you want to go fast you just have to keep your foot on the FLOOR with this car", etc., and she decided she would keep it. But NOW..........ha ha, after 3000 miles, and two road trips home to Kentucky from Nashville, including picking up some old classmates for a reunion in her new ride, showing it off to all her girlfriends, and having the freedom and luxury that comes with the car, I couldn't PRY her away from it. She now says "I LOVE IT", and it shows. It took a while but it finally sunk in.

Hope your shakedown is a bit smoother. My opinion of the car hasn't really changed, because I had them pretty well checked out before ever seeing one in person
